Mulbagal Anjaneya swamy Temple details

"Om veda matha namaha"

Hello Friends I am back with BRIEF details of another temple in karnataka.

Yes today I want to tell you very briefly of a Anjaneya swamy temple in Mulbagal.

This Temple was built it seems way back dating to 15th century[ i presume] BC. I DO NOT know the exact details. This is a very beautiful temple and i was impressed with the idol of Sri Anjaneya swamy. The idol of Sri Anjaneya Swamy is around 12 Feet high[or so] and it is very magnificent to look at.The temple complex houses other deities as well. There is Sri Rama Parivar, Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Swamy[ Stand alone and a Beautiful idol similar to Tirupathi] Sri Lakshmi devi ammanavaru. There is also a LIZARD carving on the compund wall of the temple complex that is covered with a "kavacha", to which pooja is done everyday. It is believed that by touching this we will get GOOD FORTUNE and ALSO we do not have to worry if a lizard falls on us which is generally considered as bad omen.

GETTING TO TEMPLE>> Simple All you have to do go to MULBAGAL GOVERNMENT BUS STAND AND YOU ARE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE TEMPLE. That is as simple as that.

If you go to mulbagal by bus and get down at that stop it is enough. You can see that the temple is RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STOP.No confusions what so ever.

Koodli Sringeri Mutt details

                                             "Om veda matha namaha"

Hi Everybody. I am back with another post. This time I will be telling you how to visit Koodli Sri Sringeri Shankara mutt.

HISTORY  OF THE MUTT>>This is one of the branches of the Original sringeri mutt that is situated in Sringeri. As per tradition tales this mutt is supposed to be built by one of the jagadgurus of the Sringeri mutt and that guru never returned to the mutt and stayed here itself. Other tales say that this is where that Sri Sharadambha really situated and only on request of Sri Shankaracharya went to Sringeri. What ever the true history maybe, The place is a sacred place where the Bhadra river meets the Tunga river together forming the "TUNGABHADRA" river. So it is a "SANGAM" of these two special rivers of Karnataka. A bath in this sacred sangam destroys all our sins and purifies us.

HOW TO GO THERE>> Right now you wanna visit this mutt right. Now let your point be anywhere. First thing you have to do is to come DIRECTLY to Shimoga by train or bus or by your own vehicle whichever is easy for you. If you are in bangalore and you want to visit this mutt alone then let me tell you that going to shimoga by train is better than going by bus because the cost will be more if you travel by bus than by train. the ticket price for shimoga from bangalore railway station works out to be Rs.69/-
Now say you are in shimoga. Now If you wanna prefer government bus then go to the government bus stand and board the chitradurga bus going via balehonnur. Get down at the stop called "Koodli cross". From here there will be autos who will take you to the mutt for Rs.20 or else the mutt is around 2km walk from the koodli cross.

Else if you prefer Private bus then they will take to Koodli cross for the payment of Rs 15-25/- and from there you can go to the mutt as described above. Personally I prefer Private buses because they are cheap and they are fast.

Rates>>1-Bangalore-shimoga by train-->Rs.69-72/-
2-Shimoga to Koodli cross-->Rs.15-25/-[private buses]

3-Koodli cross to mutt auto fare-->Rs.20/-
