Today I am writing about another FAMOUS temple in Karnataka and that is "Sri Chowdeshwari Temple" at SIGANDOOR.
This is not just a temple but a Miracle. Because this temple is surrounded by the backwaters of a very famous dam that supplies 30% of electricity to meet the demands of the state and on the other a huge evergreen forests. These Forest areas are referred to as "DEVARA KADU".
No Place for Poachers,Smugglers, and other ANTI-SOCIAL Elements.
The Mother is beautifully decorated and is Protector of the people who surrenders to her feet.
The Pooja Rituals are strictly observed and this is what keeps the power of the place intact.
Most other details like what are different ways of sevas to be performed and their cost etc are better to get from the temple itself.
HOW TO GO THE TEMPLE:-
A) PLAN ONE
*) First Go to SAGARA. ---> The KSRTC( Govt.) BUS STAND And the PVT.LTD Bus Stands are a little away from each other. BUT BOTH HAVE BUSES GOING TO SIGANDOOR LAUNCH POINT.
*)Board one of the buses and head for the LAUNCH point.
*) There a HUGE BOAT that is called as LAUNCH which ferry people from one side to the another.
*)Wait for it come. There are POLICE men keeping watch. there. BE CAREFUL as there is BOARD warning of Crocodiles in the LAKE.
*)Board the Launch and then you get to the other side of the LAKE.
*)Now From this point you get Pvt. Vehicles going towards the temple and the temple is a good 7-12 kms away. Cannot walk as the Road is not proper and it is a forest area.
B)PLAN TWO
*) Going via the NITTUR.
*) There are KSRTC Buses which come via this route and also maybe some private ones too.
*) The Only disadvantage is that you might not get to have the feel of travelling in the launch(boat).
