"Om veda matha namaha"
Hello Friends I am Back with another of my travel experience. Today I will tell you how and why i went to Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt. This is No.3 in my unforgettable experience's list.
First we will see the details>> That was the third time i wanted to travel to my favorite destinations in Karnataka. I got ready and i also planned the details of my visit. Till then i had only heard about Sriramachandrapura mutt. Since this time i wanted to visit gokarna i also wanted to visit the mutt. because the gokarna temple is managed by this mutt only. Right then i started my journey and the first place i visited was the ramachandrapura mutt. I went there and there i got all the help i needed to settle myself.[ it was something i never expected]. Then i did all my daily pooja ritual's.[ it was the place i for the first time performed sandhyavandane ever outside of my house].
There i also offered my service's to GO-MATHA. There are a number of cows here brought from all over India. My favorite was the the bull named "SAMRAT". He was HUGE with two big horns like elephant tusks. the whole mutt are is surrounded by forest. There is also a deer wandering and if you are lucky you will be able to see it. My breakfast and lunch was taken care by mutt itself. They offer prasadam" lunch" to all devotees and visitors who visit the mutt. The specialty of the mutt is the IDOLS OF SRI RAMA AND HIS PARIVAR worshipped in the mutt. These idols and ancient and it is said to worshipped by sage sri varada muni and sage sri agasthya muni both VERY GREAT sages. This was handed down the generations and now is daily worshipped in the mutt as per ancient customs. On the whole the visit to this mutt brings peace and joy in all the troubled minds. Actually I wanted to gokarna first but due to cirumstances i happened to visit this mutt and i am happy that i got a chance to visit this mutt and do seva.
How to get to the mutt>> If you are interested in going to this mutt then i believe it better that you go by your vehicle or book a private vehicle. The journey is long and hence it better that you people book a AC vehicle itself even if the rate/kilometer works out to be more.
If you are like without a own vehicle don't worry the Karnataka government has it's bus running exclusively to this mutt. All you have to do pack your bags and go on the go to Majestic. From there go directly into the KSRTC bus stand which is just 5 min. walk. Go to the correct platform[ ask the TC to guide you] and you will find a bus sporting a board "ramachandrapura mutt". Get into it and you are on your way. This bus directly go the mutt. So all you have to do is have good night sleep till the bus reaches the mutt. The bus leaves Bangalore around 9 PM and reaches the mutt the day at around 6:30 AM or earlier. The bus halts at the mutt and stays there till same day evening and again it will leave for Bangalore. This is the round trip. So all you have to get into this bus visit the mutt and come back in the same bus to Bangalore. it is like the one day visit. The cost too will work out and it will be within your budget.
BUT.... The only disadvantage is that you can't visit the JOG falls or Sri Sridhara Ashrama which are in the neighborhood. So the KSRTC plan works out only if your intention is to visit the mutt ONLY
If you happen to miss this BUS. Do not worry Come to SHIMOGGA and from here board a bus going to "KARANAGIRI". Get down at karanagiri stop and from the mutt is around 2 kms walk.
From karanagiri --kundapura is very near. So you can also travel to Kollur temple if you want.
The Present rate from SHIMOGGA to KARANAGIRI= Rs.45-50/-.
Friend's I have today explained to you about going to one of the Sacred Places in Karnataka.

Kollur Temple Details
"Om veda mata namaha"
Hello Friends I am Back. Today I will tell you in brief about visiting one of the MOST SACRED PLACES in KARNATAKA i.e. Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple.
First introduction my style>>
Friends People from all walks of life have faced or facing or will face problems at one one stage or the other in their life. There is no person on this planet earth whose life full of enjoyments. You all know this. This is ever green truth that we have to remember in our life. but what a person should do when faced with such difficulties is something every individual has to sit and analyze and take proper decision so that a solution is found to the problem. Not every problem is the same and hence solutions also vary. But is the individual ALONE is NOT AT ALL capable of solving his or her problem on his /her own.God's Grace, Elders Advice also comes into aid to a person suffering from problems.
This is this magnificent temple comes into picture. This place is Shakthipeeta. This is the one of the shaktipeeta's of our country that still attracts lakhs of devotees from all over the world. You can even see foreigners visiting this temple in OUR traditional attires.
This place is in the midst of dense forest. Long ago when a sage performed penance here for the betterment of the world but there was a demon named kammasura who disturbed him a lot. One day this kammasura suddenly got inspiration to get such a boon that it would impossible to kill him by anyone. Demons always think they are cleverer but we all know god is always one step ahead in thinking ways to spoil the party of such demons. So when kammasura did long meditation which pleased Lord Shiva who appeared to give him whatever he wanted goddess shakthi entered his mouth and made him unable to speak. Unable to speak this kammasura got irritated and started to act in rash way. This naturally irritated Lord Shiva and he disappeared. Now kammasura unable to speak and tolerate this irritation was acting in the most cruelest manner. He then became to called as mookasura. Now this mookasura as usual went back to his routine of disturbing peace in the neighbourhood.Unable to tolerate this kinda of punishment the sage performed deep penance to devi and she appeared as Ambika and destroyed mookasura and hence came to be known as SRI MOOKAMBIKA.
Now friends you how the devi came to be known as mookambika. After this Lord Shiva appeared here in the form of linga which has a GOLDEN LINE to say to the world that in that linga the trimurthies and their consorts are ALWAYS present.
From then on the goddess has stayed there granting boons to ALL her devotees who come to her asking for help. Therefore people from all walks of life go there and worship her and get wish fulfilled. This is My favourite place along with my mothers home i.e. Sringeri.[Sri Sharadhamba is my mother].

Idagunji Temple Details
"Om Veda mata Namaha"
Hello Friends I am Back. Today I will discuss with you about going to Idagunji Ganesha Temple.
First History of the Temple>>
Many of you might not have known that this temple is a very ancient temple and it has many secrets hidden inside it. What are those secrets? What is special about the idol of Ganesha that you see in in this temple than what you see elsewhere? what is the reason for Lord vigneshwara to be present here in the first place? Are you curious to know Hmmm? Well just read on.
Long ago there was a great sage who was doing penance in this forest area. Everyday he used to face many disturbances, problems, hurdles to his meditation. He tried many methods but to no avail. He was worried that his spiritual practice many not succeed if this continues. Once due to the sage's good fortune triloka sanchari Sri Narada Maharishi visited this sage. He listened to the problems faced by this sage and then asked him to worship Sri Mahaganapthi who is vighnavinashaka [Remover of ALL kinds of obstacles] and Provider of Success in all our tasks.
As instructed by Sri Narada Maharishi this sage worshiped Lord Vinayaka. Pleased by the sages devotion Lord Vinayaka blessed this sage and provided him with success in all his undertakings.
The great artist by name Vishwakarma carved out an idol of Ganesha as we see in the temple of idagunji today which was installed by the this sage and from then on till today[ also in the future]
worship of lord vinayaka is going on as per the ancient customs and traditions. This temple is managed by 3 families which takes turns in worshiping Lord Vinayaka. Sankastha Chaturthi pooja Vinayakachaturthi Pooja are conducted on a grand scale here.
Specialty of this idol is that "The idol Has BOTH the TUSKS and Also It has ONLY TWO Arm's"
No where else can you see this type of Ganesha Idol. This hence signifies that idol of Lord Vinayaka was way back even before the Mahabharata episode.[ remember that Mahabharata was written by Ganesha with one of his tusks].
Going to Idagunji>> Now i will give you the details for going to Idagunj. This information will tell you how to go to idagunji by bus from Byndoor.{even kundapura maybe taken as the starting point}. Now first thing you have to do is take a bus going on honnavara route from kundapura or byndoor. Get down at "Manki Mavinakatte stop if it is a private bus or go to Honnavara bus stand if it is a government bus as they not give stop at mavinakatte[ you may to get down at Murudeshwara stop where the government buses stop if you do not want to go to honnavara an catch a private bus from this point itself.]
Now IF you are in Mavinakatte stop there catch a private bus[ mostly van] to the temple. The charge will be Rs.6 to 7/- and it will half-an-hour journey. IF you are at Honnavara government bus stand then do not worry there is government bus directly to the temple. But the journey time will be little more maybe an hour or so. This government bus goes to idagunji village and then comes back. Enjoy the visit to the temple. You will be lost in pure devotion as soon as you enter the temple. The Ganesha is THE ONE AND ONLY attraction so you will have no other distractions in this place. Enjoy the temple and also surrounding beauty. You will also get to buy some medicines from stalls here for muscular pain and various bodily diseases.
After you are done with everything come back to the bus stop. Be sure to be at the bus stop a 5:25 PM at the latest as this is the last bus you will get FROM this place to go elsewhere. The government bus i mentioned about comes around 5:30-5:35 PM. Get into that bus and this bus will take you back to Honnavara and also sometimes you can travel by the same bus to Kumta also. Once you are in Kumta you as well decide to go to GOKARNA "IF AND ONLY IF" you are willing to halt in gokarna.
Because the the government that leaves idagunji at 5:35PM will reach Honnavara at around 6:10PM. And from there it will reach Kumta at around 6:45PM. By the time you reach gokarna it will be around 8:10PM. and the last bus IS the SAME bus in which you have just arrived in to Gokarna. And also after 8PM you will not be allowed to TOUCH the Ganesha OR the Atmalinga and hence plan your visit to gokarna only if you are willing to halt at gokarna for the night.
This experience happened to me and I had to stay at gokarna and hence i booked a room in "Sri Devi Krupa". The owner was kind to me as I explained my problem and hence charged me Only Rs.100/- for one night stay but I had to be contended with the common bathroom which is actually used buy drivers of the tourist vehicles. and hence unclean.
So now you how about my experience of visiting the Idagunji temple.

Kamalashile Temple Details
"Om Veda mata namaha"
Hello! Friends as i have said earlier these post's will contain my travel and and other experiences which i feel good enough to share with the world. Today i want to share with you my experience about going to a temple called "Kamalashile Brahmi Durga Parameshwari Temple".
Whenever I start on tour or any work for that matter it is my policy to always visit sri sharadambha temple or pray to her and then proceed. This is my unwritten policy because seeing and worshiping mother before any work is important to get success in that work.
I do not have a own vehicle so i always travel by KSRTC and private buses to all these sacred location's and hence all my details will invariably contain about going to these temple's by buses.
Now about going to Kamalashile temple>>
I am going to give you details about visiting this temple from Sringeri. This will include information about taking the right bus and also following the correct route to reach this temple. By this information I believe you can save time and money and reach your destination quickly.
Now lets start>> Assume you are already in Sringeri and you want to visit the kamalashile temple. The first thing you have to do is to have darshan of Sri Sharadhambha and and Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya. Then visit the Vidyashankara temple and also the surrounding temples not to forget the samadhi's of late guru's and also the kaalabhairava temple which is just 10 minutes walk from Guru Nivas.. Now you are ready for travel. First go to the bus stand which is about 10 minutes from the mutt {or else wait in-front of the mutt for the bus} with your luggage. Board the bus going to "Thirthalli". Buy the ticket to "Kaimara" stop. Kaimara is about one and half hour journey from the mutt. Now get down at Kaimara stop and wait for the bus going to "Siddapura". The present ticket rate is Rs.30/-. from Sringeri to "Kaimara stop.
There are different buses [private] going to Siddapura. Now from Kaimara board the bus going to Siddapura. Siddapura is another hour and half journey from Kaimara. The bus stops at Siddapura bus stand itself. From Kaimara to Siddapura the ticket rate is almost similar to the above mentioned price. From the Siddapura bus stand you have to take another bus leaving to Kamalashile temple. Now get into that bus and it will be half-an-hour journey to the temple from the Siddapura bus stand. You have to get down at the Arch and walk a little[ very little distance] to see the temple. The ticket rate from Siddapura Bus stand to the temple is about Rs.7/-.
You are now officially in Kamalashile temple.
You can see that there is a river that runs beside the temple and there is small bridge that is built across it. The whole area belongs to ghat section and forest area. There is also a small canal like structure on the other side of the temple and here water from the Cave[moolasthana], rain water from forest get mixed together and flow. So you can imagine this temple to to be similar in design to that of "Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple".
The Devi here is very much similar to Sri Kollur Mookambika Devi and also there is Shivalinga in front of the Devi. There was some renovation work going on when i visited the temple. But that didn't hamper my plans. There are lot of other god's and goddess inside the prakara of the temple along with the Navagraha Temple [like that is usually found in Many of the Temples in Bangalore].
After having darshan you can now go to the cave or the moolasthana. You need to be guided to that spot and hence ask someone there to help you with finding the way to cave. If you prefer to go by auto the charge will be around Rs. 40-45/-. But some may demand Rs.100/- and they will drop you to Siddapura bus stand for hundred rupees.. The guide charge will be Rs.50/-
Take the guide "IF AND ONLY IF YOU ARE VISITING THE TEMPLE FIRST TIME".
The visit to the cave requires you to have "An Emergency lamp OR a Powerful Torch" as light is required for your journey to progress inside the cave and also to keep yourself safe from falling as the grounds are slippery. There are lots of bats inside the cave and hence it is advised to be careful inside the cave. Around 20-25 minutes is required to have a proper look around the cave and come back. After you have seen the cave come back to the temple if necessary or directly go to the Siddapura bus stand. IF you are planning to stay there, no problem, there are rooms available there for reasonable prices.
Be sure to be back at the bus stand between 5:30 to 6:00PM.[ Not later than that].
Friend's I have today explained to you about going to one of the Sacred Places in Karnataka.

Hi!
" Om Veda Mata Namaha"
My Name is Anand. I am from Bangalore[Bengaluru]. I love traveling to different places especially Temples, Forest Areas, Hill Stations, to enjoy the beauty of nature and also to understand the mysterious nature of creation. I have been to some of the famous temples of karnataka. I always tour alone to these places so that i can enjoy and think in silence without any kind of tension and pressures that are normally associated when travelling in groups. But some times i make concession to take along with me like-minded people so that we can benefit from each others experience which can also act like "satsang".
I like to give you more and more information of my travel experiences so that you too can benefit and have a great experience. Await new post's. I will post as and when i am free but these posts will be i believe very useful.
